What we call our Hybrid Tick and Mosquito Control Program is a combination of the chemical option and the organic option.  With this program you would receive our chemical Tick control in the spring and fall.  The product we use for this is called Talstar, the active ingredient is Bifenthrin.(Label)  You would then receive our monthly organic mosquito control through the summer.  The product we use for this is called CedarCure, the active ingredient is Cedar Oil.(Label)
 

Ticks are very active in the spring when they emerge from their winter hibernation.  This treatment will quickly and effectively kill these insects.  Over the summer, ticks that are feeding on wildlife will drop off onto your property.  These ticks will then go through their molting process and hibernate.  In the fall these ticks will emerge to mate and actively feed again.  Fall is a very important time to kill these adult breeders before they lay their eggs.
 

June through September we will apply our monthly organic mosquito treatments using cedar oil.  Mosquitos hatch and take 2 weeks to become biting adults.  Cedar oil will kill the immature mosquitos before they become biting adults.  It will also disorient the adult mosquitos making it difficult for them to find a meal or a mate.  Monthly treatments with cedar oil is a very effective way to drastically reduce the mosquito population on your property, while also being sensitive to the beneficial insects in the environment.
